This is what you can expect from us
At Heinen & Hopman, we work hard, but we get something in return. We understand that you can only perform well if we take good care of you. If we can count on you, you can count on us!
A GOOD SALARY
You'll receive a competitive salary. We list the salary range for each vacancy, so you know what to expect before you apply. You'll receive holiday pay, profit sharing, and an Easter bonus.
LEAVE & VACATION DAYS
Thanks to our collective labor agreement, you're entitled to a generous 25 vacation days and 13 ATV days. This allows you to enjoy extended or frequent vacations, leaving plenty of time off for (or after) a fun party or when the kids have another study day. And of course, there's special leave, care leave, (partially) paid and unpaid parental leave, and maternity leave.
GOOD WORK / LIFE BALANCE
To do your job well, it's important to take good care of yourself and those around you. 38 days off will go a long way. In addition, there are flexible working hours for office staff, and time off can be taken flexibly.
YOUR PENSION
You automatically accrue pension benefits with the Metal & Technology Pension Fund. We offer an excellent pension plan where Heinen & Hopman pays 75% of the pension premium, and you pay 25%. You'll also accrue partner and orphan pensions, and we'll take good care of you if you unexpectedly become disabled.
WORK LOCATION
Your work location naturally depends on your role. As a mechanic or engineer, for example, you'll work on the most advanced and luxurious ships and may be asked to travel to unique destinations abroad for short or longer periods.
Do you work at our head office? Then you'll enjoy modern office space, ergonomic workspaces, quiet areas, and excellent catering in the company canteen. There are various healthy lunch options, as well as tasty snacks, of course. Our head office is located in the heart of the Netherlands, just 5 minutes from the A1 motorway, making it easily accessible.
WORKING ATMOSPHERE
At least as important as the location is the atmosphere. We were awarded the Great Place to Work award in March 2023, which speaks volumes. Many of our colleagues cite the work atmosphere as one of the main reasons they enjoy working here. We look out for each other and take good care of you.
We work hard here, but we also enjoy relaxing and having fun. Besides Friday afternoon drinks, our calendar is packed with fun outings, such as Friends of Amstel Live, bingo, a darts tournament, a summer festival, a family day, team-building activities, an annual, often unforgettable party that everyone talks about, and pétanque.
EDUCATION & TUITION COSTS
Want to take a training course or course to improve your skills? Go for it! We'll cover the training costs and materials for you. If you're ambitious and enthusiastic, we're happy to support you in achieving your goals.
TRAVEL EXPENSES & OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION
There is a travel allowance, an offshore allowance, an allowance for foreign travel and an allowance for long-term assignments abroad.
WELL INSURED
Heinen & Hopman has taken out a separate insurance policy to supplement the WIA (Work and Income according to Labour Capacity Act) benefit. The WIA benefit (around 70% of your salary) is supplemented to approximately 90% of your original salary. For employees earning above the maximum daily wage, Heinen & Hopman has taken out a WIA excess insurance policy.
