About us:

Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd (DSCS) is a joint venture between Damen Workboats in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Workboats to produce tug- and workboats up to 60 meters. At the moment the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard: up to 40 hulls are procured from our partner shipyards. DSCS is performing outfitting, commissioning and delivery to clients worldwide. The strategy to grow is successful. Growth in volume, expanding the product portfolio, expanding other maritime activities (services, supervision) within the group.

The role:

The principal duty of a stock controller is to organize and monitor stock levels to maximize efficiency. The Stock Controller, monitors and coordinates activities related to demand of raw material and inventory parts to ensure that all business operations have the right material at the right time to achieve their objectives.

Key accountabilities:

- Develop and Optimize inventory stock control procedures:

  • Inform Demand people to use leftover
  • Reduce quantity buy too much but not consume quick
  • Find out why material was ordered but not using

- Determine the structure of the stock:

  • Redefine Commodity group for managing stock.

- Annalise the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages:

  • Based on situation of material in IFS to forecast shortages and react.

- Monitor daily stock:

  • Monitor daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile the levels of order points for grab store and anonymous materials.

- Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory:

  • Create quick report to monitor demand

- Approve consolidated orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus:

  • Release MRP and INV Purchase Requisition
  • Reuse surplus

- Analyze data to anticipate future needs and trends generated by a long term portfolio…

  • Based on aging, turnover and other reports to analyze and see future situation

- Collaborate with warehouse employees, material coordinators and purchasers to ensure business goals are met:

  • Daily communication with other departments to make sure good material flow

- Coordinate with DS Gorinchem for optimal usage of the leftover/surplus materials:

  • Inform/update DSGo about leftover/surplus material

​- Report to upper management on stock levels, turnover, deviations in material deliveries and stock aging trends:

Create and send Aging/turn over report monthly

Skills & experience:

- Education:

  • BA in Accounting / business administration/ Logistics / Engineering or relevant field;
  • Level English

- Experience:

  • 1-2 year in relevant/similar position.
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is advance.
  • An analytical mind with strong decisional behavior.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
